Hi all! I have a little background in UX and a lot of time on my hands, and I want data for designing a chord map. So, I have some questions for current users--feel to answer as many or few as you want. 1-6 are most important, but if you have time I'd love to know the rest.
Do you use a popular configuration (default, Backspice, Cool Hand, etc?) If so, have you made any modifications to it to better suit your needs? Are there any significant limitations you've run into with the configuration you use?
Are there any individual buttons you have difficulty reaching quickly? Any kinds of chord that are difficult to reach? (Could be specific chords, or general patterns like "chords where the pinky extends past the ring finger.") Are there any buttons or chords that you think are particularly easy to reach quickly?
Are there any modifier buttons you think are particularly easy or difficult to reach? Does pressing a modifier button make chords slower/more difficult?
Do you use Multi-Button Per Row chords? If so, are there any combinations that are difficult for you to reach?
Do you use the Twiddler as your mouse, or only as a keyboard? Do you use the default mouse buttons, or have you reconfigured them to something else? Are any mouse buttons easy/difficult to reach quickly?
Which hand do you use the Twiddler with? Do you switch hands? If so, do you change the configuration between hands?
If you use MCCs, how did you select which ones to use? If you don't, what is your rationale for not using them?
What do you use the Twiddler for? (coding, narrative prose, editing, journalling, data entry, navigating Photoshop, something else?) If you use it for different tasks, do you ever change the configuration between tasks?
Do you use the Twiddler over Bluetooth or connected via USB? Where do you use it (stationary at a desk, while walking, etc?) Do you use the untethered chording mode?
Do you ever use the Twiddler strapless, or have you made any modifications to the strap? Have you made any modifications to the Twiddler itself to make it more comfortable to use?
How long have you been using a Twiddler? How often do you use it?
What is your typing speed with the Twiddler, and how does it compare to your speed on a standard keyboard? How much practice did it take to attain this speed with the Twiddler?
How did you go about learning to use the Twiddler? Is there anything you wish you would've done differently?
Is there anything you think is especially important to keep in mind while designing a chord map?
