So when connecting the my computer and twiddler3 together via USB, I get a pop up just like for a normal USB drive. When clicking on the pop up it take my to an ejectable folder. The only file in this folder is called twiddle.cfg . To my understanding for personal cfg file, I'm to move this file out and input my custom cfg file in. When I do this however I only get the previous files keybinds. How do I fix this?Thank you in advance!
@DrManns Just overwrite the twiddler.cfg file on the Twiddler with your custom cfg file. The file MUST be named twiddler.cfg.
The new twiddler.cfg chords are instantly accessible on your next keypress. There is no need to power cycle the Twiddler.
@tony I tried renaming my cfg file to twiddler like suggested, and that didn't work. I was going to put the original cfg file in the twiddler however I got an error message saying the last USB device I connected malfunctioned and that windows won't recognize it. I restarted my PC and it is still showing the error message.
@drmanns can you upload a screenshot of the error?
@tony I can't as I am a new user... but word for word it says this
USB device not recognizedThe last USB device you connected to this computer malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognize it.RecommendationTry reconnecting the device. If Windows still does not recognize it, your device may not be working properly.
Can you reformat the twiddler drive? In explorer, right click on the mounted drive and click format.
Format as FAT
That is the issue @tony, after I started getting the error message the tweddler drive doesn't show up in the file explorer. At first I thought it could be that the USB controllers needed to be updated but, all of them are up to date.
At this point would it be better to submit a ticket to see if the company has a way to fix this?
Unplug the Twiddler from USB.
Turn off the Twiddler power.
Reboot the host computer.
Plug the Twiddler in to USB on host.
Turn on the Twiddler.
What is the result?
@tony The problem continues to persist even after doing these steps. I have tried it multiple times and none of them worked
Do you have a magnetic USB cord? I get the same error message if the magnetic connector is connected the wrong direction, but it works if you flip it over.
