Hi,
I want to bring up the problem with the gui/command/win key once again.
Here is my situation:
1) I work on mac and ios at the moment
2) I need some chords involving ALT-key (for example: if I set up german layout @ is accessed by alt-l...)
3) I need the gui key as one of the modifyer keys (for example: to switch between applications one has to HOLD gui and repeatedly press tab - so it must be a modifyer. Just a chord wouldn't work)
I know that on the mac I can remap alt and gui so that twiddler-alt works as gui
and I can then code alt-key-combos with gui on the twiddler (in fact that's exactly what I do right now).
However, this setup does not work on ios since I can not remap alt and gui there and some chords involve alt (see 2) which are now coded using gui on the twiddler.
So I really need to be able to choose one of the thumb keys to act as gui
(for me at the moment I would prefer: twiddler-alt -> gui, twiddler-num -> alt, twiddler-ctrl -> ctrl, twiddler-shift -> shift)
Also I would like to suggest the option of prefix chords: chords that don't send anything but make the next key being sent with a modifyer (ctrl, shift, whatever). This would allow to type some of the more obscure shortcuts like shift-alt-a etc (without defining extra chords for every single one of them - also: my brain still stores them as letter+modifyer(s) so it would be easier as well)
all the best,
Tim
