The mouse on twiddler seems very much a last-resort sort of device, at least for me so it becomes much more important to navigate the desktop environment with keys.
Things like run, start menu, lock screen, switch app, close window, copy, paste, escape, forwards, backwards, page up, page down, home, end, cursors, cntrl-shift-cursors and navigating around from the keyboard are things that none of the typing tutors I've used help you learn, but are quite a bit of what I need to do day to day.
Does anyone have any tips and tricks for navigating around the user interface, or learning the keypresses to do it well? Are there any layouts that are particularly well suited to navigation?
I've turned on caret browsing in firefox and that's been pretty useful.
