I had the opportunity to try my Twiddler3 with Google Glass today, and I have to say, it was pretty underwhelming. This isn't any fault of the Twiddler, but given how it's advertised, my expectations are a little deflated.
Basically, Twiddler doesn't natively pair with Glass. As far as I can tell, Glass doesn't actually natively pair with any kind of keyboard/input device. I did have a chance to mess with it a bit and we were able to sideload in a bluetooth manager that paired the Glass with Twiddler, but input didn't do anything. Because the Glass thing doesn't recognize any input besides voice, touch, movement, w/e. PgUP/DN, Home/end, Esc, directions, letters, nothing from the keyboard got any recognition from Glass.
The best thing I could find was this, which requires rooting and downgrading the OS on glass to run vim. Well, it's not my Glass, so I can't do that. And even if it were my Glass, I'm not confident that I could do that.
So, uh, any other mono HMDs that might work with this? Honestly, if I could run Emacs, I'd be happy. Happier if I could run EverNote, but Emacs would be good enough. Barring that, my next thought is to put together a Pi and hook it up to a HMD, but which one would be able to do that? Are there any that would accept an hdmi input from something like a Pi? The ones I've looked at seem to want to run their own OS, just like the Glass (Recon Jet, Vuzix).
Thanks for reading, I appreciate any suggestions!
